Location

This opulent resort towers over 2 scenic river valleys, 0.5 km from downtown Banff (regular shuttle to Banff Town at small extra charge)  and within just 15 minutes from Mount Norquay, 25 minutes from Sunshine and 45 minutes from Lake Louise. The Hotel also offers a shuttle to and from Calgary International Airport, 129 kms away.

The resort offers a wealth of exciting activities for all seasons, including downhill and cross-country skiing, dog sledding, snow shoeing, ice-skating, bowling, hiking, fishing, river rafting, horseback riding, and a wealth of other exciting activities.

Recreation

Spa - The resort’s 38, 000 square foot Willow Stream Spa has 23 treatment areas offering a variety of relaxing massages and beauty treatments, 3 waterfall spa tubs, saunas, steam rooms, and a European mineral pool, all available for a surcharge.
 
Guests have complimentary access to the mountain resort's children's pool, 32-metre indoor pool, year-round 20-metre heated outdoor pool, and outdoor spa tub.
 
Health club (surcharge) - Provides treadmills, stationary bikes, weight-training machines, stair machines, elliptical trainers, yoga mats, free weights, and other equipment. Regularly scheduled fitness classes include yoga and aerobics.
 
Ski - Numerous ski locations are just minutes away. The Fairmont offers an on-site snow school where guests can learn to ski. The resort also offers ski passes, storage, and rental. A shuttle is also provided to nearby ski locations such as Sunshine Village Ski Resort and Mount Norquay Ski Village, both about 2 kilometres from the resort.

Gatehouse Suite - Newly renovated and featuring electric fireplaces, these suites are ideal for small families or extended stay guests who seek the comforts of an additional living space with slightly larger bathrooms. One Bedroom Suite - Spacious and ideal for entertaining. Located exclusively in the main building, each suite features an elegantly appointed living room with private entrance. The Royal Suite - Offering unsurpassed luxury, this grand Banff suite was designed for royalty, dignitaries and extra special occasions. This unforgettable suite features a reception foyer, spacious living room, grand piano, upper perimeter library, powder room and multiple windows. The attached master bedroom is private, featuring a spectacular chandelier, window seat and additional bathroom. Located in the pinnacle of a castle peak, the suite and master bedroom offer magnificent panoramic views.

Waldhaus Restaurant - Bavarian cottage-style building created as a clubhouse in 1927 on the edge of the golf course. Dark-wood panelling, large fireplace and wine cabinet housing excellent wine selection. Authentic German and Swiss dishes. Reservations recommended. Nightly dinner; seasonal closures.
 
Castello Ristorante - Traditional Italian cuisine, wines, and desserts. Reservations recommended. Nightly dinner; seasonal closures.
 
Waldhaus Pub - Located beneath the Waldhaus dining room. Casual bar with pool table and multiple TVs. Appetisers, cheese fondue, microbrews, and beers on tap. Open from late afternoon to late evening; extended hours in summer months.

1888 Chop House - A modern twist on the authentic chop house with a menu focused on prime cuts of Alberta beef, sustainably sourced wild game and Ocean Wise seafood

The Vermillion Room - Good looking and bold, The Vermillion Room welcomes you with open arms, a delectable menu and effortless charm. Step into a grand space that sweeps you off your feet and into a beautiful brasserie with a bustling atmosphere and a menu to delight in.

Stanley's Smokehouse (seasonal) - Enjoy good old Souterhn barbeque at the golf course club house. Shuttle service available.

STOCK (Food & Drink) - A locally inspired and stylishly STOCKed market that brings gourmet food and drink to Banff. 
 
Samurai Sushi Bar and Restaurant - Authentic Japanese surroundings. Fresh sushi and sashimi. Japanese hot-pot dinners such as shabu-shabu, sukiyaki, and yosenabe. Dinner served five nights per week; seasonal closures.
 
Rundle Lounge - Overlooking the Bow Valley. Appetisers and cocktails. Traditional afternoon tea served daily. Open from early afternoon to late evening.
 
Ramsay Lounge - Large selection of ports, scotches, and cocktails. Open from late afternoon to late evening; seasonal closures.
