Day 1 - Arrive Vancouver

Arrive into Vancouver and transfer (not included) to your hotel.

Day 2 - Vancouver Exploring

The day is yours to discover the coastal city of Vancouver. Canada's third largest metropolitan centre, Vancouver is a busy port city with a multi cultural ambiance. The spectacular setting invites you outdoors; explore the restaurants, shopping galleries and museums, nightlife, entertainment and more. To help you sightsee at your leisure we have included the Hop on Hop off Sightseeing Pass.

Day 3 - Whale Watching & Wildlife Trip

Departing from the picturesque West Coast fishing village of historic Steveston, this tour travels through the spectacular Gulf and San Juan Islands. Every summer well over 80 Orca whales visit the waters south of Vancouver. Sighting chances are 90-95 per cent. Other marine wildlife you are likely to encounter include Humpback whales, Dall’s Porpoises, seals, sea lions, and bald eagles. On rare occasions Minke whales and sea elephants have been encountered. You travel protected from the elements in covered, comfortable, high-speed boats equipped with washroom facilities.

Day 4 - VIA Rail - Vancouver to Jasper

Overnight on your VIA Rail journey from Vancouver to Jasper in a private cabin.

Day 6 - Wildlife Discovery Tour

Day at leisure before your evening Wildlife Discovery Tour. We highly recommend adding on the Jasper Tramway to help you take in the best of Jasper from the sky. Admire diverse animal life in the Canadian wilderness on this 3.5-hour evening wildlife discovery tour from Jasper. Delve into Jasper National Park with your guide. Travel through the mighty Athabasca Valley and marvel at the park's beautiful landscapes by twilight. Seek out timid native wildlife such as coyotes, deer, elk, big-horned sheep, moose, mountain goats and wolves. Learn of the steps taken to ensure their safety and survival in the park, and gain insight into the region's rich ecology, history and geology.

Day 7 - Maligne Valley Sightseeing and Boat Cruise

Fed by the glaciers of Jasper National Park, glide past the jagged mountain peaks as you cruise to Spirit Island, a world-famous destination only accessible by boat.  Visitors can explore the lake from the comfort of glass-enclosed and heated cruise boats while a knowledgeable guide retells Maligne’s history and explains its geology, wildlife, weather, flora and fauna.

Day 8 - Jasper to Banff

Full day tour from Jasper to Banff, this will be one of the main highlights of your trip to Canada. It is rated one of the most scenic drives in the world. Along the way you will stop off at many sights and view points for a stroll, picture opportunties and to take in an abundance of waterfalls, lakes (including iconic Lake Louise) and glaciers. A picnic lunch at a picturesque location is included as well as time at the Columbia Icefield Centre to take in the spectacular Ice Explorer ride where a Snocoach will take you out on to the Athbasca Glacier where you can get off for a walk and fill up your water bottle. Also included is the Glacier Skywalk.

Day 9 - Discover Banff, Wildlife & Gondola

A fantastic tour awaits you today. Learn about Banff. Look out for the local wildife and ride the Banff Gondola. Remember your camera!! 

Day 10 - Banff Hot Springs

Relax and enjoy a dip in the hot mineral pools at the Upper Hot Springs (admission included).

Day 11 - Banff to Calgary to Winnipeg

Transfer from Banff to Calgary (included) and board your flight to Winnipeg (included)

Day 12 - Winnipeg

Overnight in Winnipeg.

Day 13 - Winnipeg to Churchill

After breakfast, a group transfer will take you to the airport for your flight to Churchill. A Lazy Bear Lodge guide will meet you upon arrival at Churchill Airport and escort you to the lodge where you embark on the Cultural and Heritage Tour, which takes you to Churchill and the surrounding area where you will be exploring various historic sites. These include Cape Merry, an outside tour of the polar bear holding facility, the wreckage of the famous plane, “Miss Piggy”, and many other historic sites that make Churchill the town it is today. Afterwards, check in and meet your hosts for the next five days. This afternoon and during your holiday, you will have a limited amount of free time to independently explore Churchill. You may also inquire with the front desk about optional tours and excursions you may book during your time at the lodge.

Day 14 - Hudson Bay Coastal Boat Tour

Today you depart on a full-day Hudson Bay Coastal Tour by boat with the opportunity to view the polar bears along the coast of Hudson Bay and other local river estuaries. These magnificent creatures can be seen in these areas, swimming in the water or cooling off on the rocks. A day of fun and learning is complemented by lunch served on board during the tour.

Day 15 - Beluga Whale Boat Tour

After breakfast, you take to the waves again on a 3-hour Beluga Whale Boat Tour in search of the ivory-coloured beluga whales. Also included in the excursion is a walking tour of the historic Prince of Wales Fort, giving you a taste of the region’s past days.

Day 16 - Optional Tours / Free time

Today you may embark on any postponed or optional tours requested that were not able to be taken earlier during your stay due to weather or other factors. Or perhaps independently visit some sites like the Itsanitaq Museum and the Canada Parks Museum as well as unique shops in town and see the authentic Native Art.

Day 17 - Arctic Crawler Tundra Tour / Lodge to Winnipeg

Following your last delicious breakfast at the Lazy Bear Lodge Café. This 3-hour Tundra Tour will allow you to experience the Arctic Crawler™ and take you to explore the beauty of the tundra, the flora and fauna and possibly various wildlife in the comfort of a specially constructed all-terrain vehicle. The lodge shuttle takes you to Churchill Airport for your return flight to Winnipeg. Upon arrival in Winnipeg, you will transfer to an airport hotel.

Day 18 - Depart Winnipeg

After breakfast, check out from your hotel and transfer independently to Winnipeg International airport for your return flight.
