Holiday Overview

Escape to British Columbia’s wilderness with this glamping stay in the North of Vancouver Island along the Johnstone Straight. Staying in spacious safari tents, you will be immersed in the rainforest listening to the sounds of nature around you. With delicious gourmet meals, inspired by the region, the camp also features hot tubs and sauna perfect for relaxing after a day of adventure.

Each day head out on a guided kayaking experience, your guide will inform you about the geology of the area as well as take you to the best spot to see orcas. There is lots more wildlife to spot in this region including humpback whales and bears on the shoreline.

Day 1 - Arrive in Campbell River

Flying from Vancouver, arrive into Campbell River. Transferring to your hotel spending the rest of your day at leisure.

Hotel provided by tour company as part of package.

Day 2 - Depart for Orca Camp

An early start this morning check in at 7:30am for your boat transfer to camp. This scenic boat trip will see you cross through the Discovery Passage and the infamous ‘Seymour Narrows’. Sightings of porpoises, dolphins, and whales are common even before reaching camp, after 2 hours and 30 minutes you will arrive at camp.

Upon arrival you will be greeted by staff for lunch, with some free time after to get settled into you camp.

In the afternoon take part in a kayak orientation to get you ready for your next few days of adventure.

Day 3 - Orca Camp

Enjoy a full day of kayaking and exploring the spectacular coastline while looking out for whales and other wildlife. During your kayak you will have opportunity to go ashore to stretch and discover beautiful waterfalls where you will have the opportunity to go for a dip in the glacial waters.  

The guides will provide insightful information about the area and the wildlife. As well as details on sustainability of the area.

Back at camp, there will be time to relax in the wood fired sauna and hot tub or relax on the beach looking out for passing whales.

Day 4 - Orca Camp

It’s time to venture across Johnstone Strait to the island opposite camp. Kayaking along the shores you will have the opportunity to spot bears and cubs that can often be spotted along the beach.

After the day’s paddling adventures, we return to enjoy a native sauna and hot tub, a great end to a fantastic day.

Day 5 - End of Tour

This morning enjoy one final paddle before breakfast. Afterwards you will transferred back to Campbell River, lunch will be served on your boat transfer. Upon arrival in Campbell River transfer to the airport for your onward flight back to Vancouver.
