This once in a lifetime experience allows you to see Polar Bears and Beluga Whales in the wild. Beginning in Winnipeg taking a short domestic flight to the Lazy Bear Lodge in Churchill where you will be staying for the duration of this itinerary. Journey to Fireweed Island on the one of a kind wildlife viewing vessel the Mantonabee a unique vessel has under water viewing platforms allowing you to spot Beluga Whales and Polar Bears.
This once in a lifetime experience is the perfect wildlife add on to any Manitoba holiday!

Day 1 - Arrive at Winnipeg
Upon arrival to Winnipeg make your own way to your Winnipeg hotel for your overnight stay.

Day 2 - Winnipeg to Lazy Bear Lodge
After breakfast, a group transfer will take you to the airport for your flight to Churchill. A Lazy Bear Expeditions guide will meet you upon arrival at Churchill Airport and escort you to the lodge. Check in and meet your hosts. Afterwards, embark on a Cultural and Heritage Tour of Churchill and the surrounding area where you will be exploring various historic sites. These include Cape Merry, an outside tour of the polar bear holding facility and many other points of interest.

Day 3 - Fireweed Island Boat Tour
Today you depart on a full-day Journey to Fireweed Island Boat Tour on the flagship ‘Matonabee’, the only arctic cruising vessel with underwater viewing windows. You’ll have an opportunity to view the polar bears along the coast of Hudson Bay and other local river estuaries. These magnificent creatures can be seen in these areas, swimming in the water or cooling off on the rocks. A day of fun and learning is complemented by lunch served on board during the tour.

Day 4 - Beluga Whale Boat Tour
Today you enjoy your Beluga Whale Boat Tour/Fort Tour to watch these captivating creatures, followed by a walking tour of the historic Prince of Wales Fort. Begin with your whale watching, focusing on viewing the beautiful Beluga Whales in their natural habitat in the Churchill River and into the Hudson Bay area as they feed on schools of Capelin, Arctic Char and Brook Trout. Afterwards, disembark and go ashore for a walking tour of the historic Prince of Wales Fort, enhanced by a Duke University presentation.

Day 5 - Kayaking & Beluga AquaGliding
Today is a day of adventure! Start with a fascinating 3-hour guided kayak tour around the local waters, examining the beautiful shorelines and landscapes from the quiet vantage of your kayak. After lunch, depart on a thrilling Beluga AquaGlidingTM experience - your floating mat tethered to a Zodiacwhile in the Churchill River or Hudson Bay. Participants will lie flat and be able to watch the belugas approach for an up close, friendly encounter. Optional activities also available onsite.

Day 6 - Churchill to Winnipeg
Today you check out and enjoy one last wildlife experience with a 3-hour Summer Tundra Tour on the Arctic Crawler™, viewing the local bears and glorious landscapes. Afterwards, you are transferred to Churchill Airport for your return flight to Winnipeg. Upon arrival in Winnipeg, check into your Winnipeg hotel.

Day 7 - Depart Winnipeg
Today marks the end of this package, checking out of your hotel for your onward adventure.
