Day 1 - Calgary to Banff

Arrive into Calgary Airport, after collecting your bags meet with your coach transfer to your Banff hotel.

Day 2 - Snowshoeing to Paint Pots

Duration: 4 hours

Snowshoe on an easy trail along a bridge across the frozen Vermilion River and and along the snowy path winding through a forest of pine trees to the Paint Pots, a cultural treasure within the National Park. Learn about the history of the fur trade as you explore the fascinating Paint Pots, which are mineral deposits once used by First Nations people for rock painting. Along the way you will hear stories of Banff's indigenous people, explorers and fur traders who lived in and traveled through the Rockies. After this crisp winter walk, enjoy a uniquely Canadian treat: hot maple taffy poured into snow to make a sweet frozen dessert. Plus try a crazy carpet slide down the hill while it's being made - kids and adults alike love this part of the tour! This is an excellent trip for beginners as it covers a mainly flat terrain with minimal elevation gain, and also suits anyone wanting a pleasant activity outdoors in the majesty of Kootenay National Park.

Day 3 - Banff to Jasper

Travel north along the Icefields Parkway to Jasper today. Massive snow covered mountains, frozen waterfalls and broad-reaching valleys will be the highlight the spectacular drive through glacier country.

Day 4 - Maligne Valley & Pleckaitis Canyon Icewalk

Explore the stunning landscapes of Jasper National Park on the Maligne Valley & Pleckaitis Icewalk. This guided winter adventure combines scenic stops at iconic locations like Medicine Lake with a unique icewalk experience in the untouched Pleckaitis Canyon. Day 5 - Jasper to Lake Louise

Today, travel southward via the spectacular Icefield Parkway to Lake Louise. This evening, enjoy a wonderful 40-minute sleigh ride beside the lake.

Day 6 - Explore Lake Louise

Lake Louise is the most famous glacial lake in the Canadian Rockies and one of the most beautiful in the Western Hemisphere. The lake, named for Princess Louise Caroline Alberta, daughter of Queen Victoria, is 1730 metres above sea level. Spend the day exploring Lake Louise.

Day 7 - Lake Louise to Calgary

Depart Lake Louise, following the Trans-Canada Highway from the Rocky Mountains to the Great central Plains that roll east for 2000 kms and extend as far south as Mexico. This is "cattle ranching country" and Canada's breadbasket. Arrive at Calgary airport in time for your return flight to the UK
