While exploring the abundance of Parks on offer you have the option to pre-purchase an annual Discovery Pass that can be posted to you directly or you can purchase day passes at various kiosks located at entry points to the parks and in towns. It really depends on your travel style as to which option you choose. Just a gentle reminder this system isn’t designed to be difficult or to catch anyone out, it’s simply in place to invest back into parks for the future enjoyment of everyone.

  • Unlimited admission to over 80 Parks Canada administered places.
  • The  Discovery Passes your gateway to history, nature, and adventure from coast to coast
  • Purchased in advance online or when you enter the park (at the designated toll booth) 
  • Approx costs: Adult: $72.25CAD / Family (7 people in Vehicle): $145.25CAD
  • Info: Passes, permits and fees
  • Annual passes are valid for 12 full months from the date of purchase 
  • Pays for itself in as little as seven days (compared to daily admission fees)
  • Must be purchased directly from Parks Canada
  • Free admission for youth 17 and under

Available Online for limited locations, or purchased locally at park entry points and selected visitor centres.
 

Discovery Parks Canada are closing the Moraine Lake Road to personal cars while they improve the road. There is plenty of other ways to visit Lake Louise and Moraine Lake including a shuttle bus or walk.

Booking Moraine Lake Shuttle 2026

The booking portal for the Moraine Lake Shuttle will open on Wednesday, April 16 2026 at 8:00 am MT. 

We highly recommend booking your slot on the bus when the booking portal opens to secure your preferred time slot. Alternatively speak to your consultant if you wish to add a day trip to Moraine Lake.
