Killington Experiences

Killington is a town in the Green Mountains of central Vermont. It’s known for the Killington and Pico Mountain downhill ski resorts. The area’s many hiking paths include the Thundering Falls Trail, which leads to a tumbling cascade. The long-distance Appalachian and Long trails both cut through the town. West of Killington, old-growth hardwood trees, including sugar maples and beeches, fill Gifford Woods State Park.

Below is a small selection of the tours we can organise for you when you have booked your USA holiday with us and are visiting Killington.

Designed by Geoffrey Cornish, the course takes full advantage of unique mountain terrain, and it shows. Snowmelt streams, a 2,000’ elevation and signature vistas set the scene. The 6,186-yard, par 72 Championship Golf Course includes a practice facility with a 12,000 square-foot putting green and practice bunker, full-size retail pro shop with all the essentials, on-course beverage cart, caddy shack with food and beverage offerings, as well as the Clubhouse Bar and Grill with indoor and outdoor seating. The Killington Golf Course offers a full season schedule of league nights and tournaments.

A great introduction cave for beginners and is our guest’s favorite. It is a 5 to 10-minute hike to the cave location.Talus caves are openings formed between boulders piled up on mountain slopes. Most of them are very small both in length and in cross section. Some boulder piles, however, do have explorable interconnected “passages” of considerable length. Some of the largest talus caves occur among granite blocks in New York and New England, where integrated systems of passages between boulders have been mapped to lengths of several kilometers.

Talus Caves Highlights

  • Caving adventure designed to cater for beginners
  • Some areas of the cave system have long interconnected passageways.

With more than 25 years of experience, we have chosen trails with the best scenic mountain vistas, waterfalls, historical features and lakes in Vermont. The majority of hikes take place in the Green Mountain National Forest along the Appalachian Trail and Long Trail, the oldest long-distance hiking trail in the country. Our guided hiking adventures are very flexible to suit hikers of all ability levels. You can turn things up by going on an advanced hike, summiting a high peak; or you can take it easy with a beginner’s hike to a picturesque waterfall. ATA personalizes each guest’s experience, allowing hikes to be as long or short as guests desire.

Guided Hiking Adventure Highlights

  • Hikes can last any length of time desired, from one-hour, multiple-hours, to a half-day or full-day.
