Holland America Alaska Cruise - Your Questions Answered

Check in opens approximately 14 days prior to your sail date and should be completed at 72 hours prior to boarding. You can check in through the Holland America Manage My Booking or on the Navigator app.

Shore excursions can be booked as soon as your cruise is confirmed, through the Holland America manage my booking portal. We recommend booking your shore excursions in advance to avoid disappointment with popular tours being fully booked.

Holland America sails to Alaska on the following cruise ships:

• Koningsdam with a capacity of 2,650 passengers
• Zaandam with a capacity of 1,432 passengers
• Eurodam with a capacity of 2,104 passengers
• Nieuw Amsterdam with a capacity of 2,106 passengers
• Noordam with a capacity of 1,972 passengers
• Westerdam with a capacity of 1,964 passengers

Once you have completed your online check in you will be provided with your boarding time. You should arrive at the port no earlier than 20 minutes before your allocated time.

After completing your online check in you will be provided with luggage tags. Please print and attach this to your case prior to boarding to ensure your luggage is delivered to your cabin.

Holland America’s dress code is relaxed yet refined. During the day, resort casual attire is appropriate, including jeans, shorts, and casual tops. In the evenings, most nights follow a smart casual code collared shirts, dresses, or blouses with trousers while 1–2 nights per cruise are designated as Dressy Nights, where guests are encouraged to dress up in cocktail attire or smart eveningwear (though formalwear is optional). The main dining room and specialty restaurants observe these evening guidelines, and on Alaska cruises, stylish layers are recommended for added warmth.

Yes! Depending on which itinerary you are booked on the glaciers you visit may vary. Hubbard Glacier, Mendenhall Glacier, and those within Glacier Bay like Margerie Glacier and Grand Pacific Glacier.

Holland America offers three different Wi-Fi packages to choose from.

Surf – Have It All

Included in the Have it All Package, this allows you to use the basic’s including web browsing, checking emails, accessing news and sports apps. However, Does not support audio/video calls or streaming services.

Premium Package

All Surf Package features plus support for audio and video calls, and access to messaging apps. Streaming services are not supported

Stream Package

All Premium Package features plus the ability to stream content from platforms like Netflix.

Holland America offers four drink packages, each tailored to different preferences. A maximum of 15 beverages per day applies to all packages (except the Unlimited Coca-Cola Package). Any drinks purchased beyond this daily limit will be charged to your onboard account. Holland America also reserves the right to refuse service if a guest appears intoxicated. Please see each package description below for full details.

Signature Drinks Package – US$54.95 per person, per day

This package is automatically included if your cruise was booked under the ‘Have It All’ fare (which also includes a shore excursion credit, Wi-Fi, and specialty dining). Please refer to your My Canada Trips confirmation to check your inclusions.

Note: This package includes 15 beverages per day per person.

Inclusions:

Premium beers, cocktails, wines by the glass, and spirits
All items included in the ‘Quench Package’
Beverages valued up to US$11.00 per drink
If a drink exceeds the limit (e.g. US$13.00), the difference (US$2.00) is charged to your account

Elite Drinks Package – US$59.99 per person, per day

You can upgrade to this package pre-departure or onboard. It includes unlimited non-alcoholic drinks and 15 alcoholic drinks per day.

Inclusions:

All drinks up to US$15.00
All beverages from the Quench Package
If you select a drink over the allowance (e.g. US$17.00), the extra cost (US$2.00) will be charged to your account
Quench Package – US$17.95 per person, per day

This is a non-alcoholic option with a 15-drink daily limit.

Inclusions:

Soft drinks, juices, mocktails
Specialty coffees (e.g. cappuccino, espresso)
Bottled water (up to 500ml)
Sparkling water

Coca-Cola Package – US$8.00 per person, per day

This non-alcoholic package has no daily drink limit.

Inclusions:

Unlimited Coca-Cola fountain sodas for the duration of your cruise
No Drinks Package

If you opt not to purchase a package, beverages can be bought individually at bar prices. A discretionary 18% gratuity will be added to your account per drink. Complimentary drinks are available across the ship and include lemonade, iced tea, hot tea, regular coffee, and non-bottled water.
