Vancouver and the Rockies

Day 1 - Arrive in Vancouver

Arrive in Vancouver and transfer to your hotel, we recommend taking the Canada Line from Vancouver Airport to Downtown Vancouver. After checking into your hotel spending the remainder of your day at leisure.  

Day 2 - Experience Vancouver

Experience the excitement of the World Cup in Vancouver as you explore Fan Zones set up across the city. Join thousands of supporters watching live matches on giant screens, surrounded by an electric atmosphere. Enjoy interactive games, live music, local food stalls, and the chance to see special appearances from athletes and performers.

Day 3 - Explore Vancouver

Experience the vibrant city of Vancouver, where breathtaking natural scenery blends seamlessly with a lively, modern urban culture. Begin your visit with a walk around Stanley Park, one of North America’s greatest city parks, where lush forest trails, sweeping coastal views, and iconic landmarks like the totem poles offer an unforgettable introduction to the city. After enjoying the fresh air, head into downtown Vancouver to explore its bustling streets, boutique shops, and scenic waterfront promenades.

Continue your journey to Granville Island, a favourite among both locals and visitors. Wander through the famous public market, sampling artisan foods, fresh produce, baked treats, and handcrafted goods. With independent galleries, waterfront cafés, and lively street performers, it’s the perfect place to soak up Vancouver’s creative and culinary spirit.

While in the city, be sure to take in the historic Gastown neighbourhood with its cobblestone streets and Steam Clock, riding the Skyride gondola up Grouse Mountain for panoramic views, or visiting the immersive exhibits at the Vancouver Aquarium. Whether you’re seeking nature, culture, or cuisine, Vancouver offers something spectacular at every turn.

Day 4 - Vancouver to Jasper

Enjoy free time in the morning to explore Vancouver before making your own way to the train station to board VIA Rail’s iconic route ‘The Canadian’ a rail journey through the Canadian Rockies. Passing through Fraser Valley and viewing magnificent coastal mountains before entering Fraser Canyon. Enjoy dinner onboard as you follow along the spectacular Thompson River providing fantastic views.

Dinner is included onboard the VIA Rail.

Day 5 - Arrive Jasper

As the ‘Canadian’ begins to make its way into Jasper you will have the opportunity to view Mount Robson the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. Arriving at Jasper in the afternoon make your own way to your chosen Jasper hotel.

In the evening enjoy a wildlife tour of Jasper where you have the opportunity to spot various local wildlife including Moose, Elk, Big Horn Sheep and Bears! Your local guide will teach all about the National Park and more about the wildlife which calls it home.

Day 6 - Explore Jasper

Jasper offers a breathtaking blend of rugged wilderness, serene landscapes, and unforgettable outdoor adventures. Located in the heart of Jasper National Park, this charming mountain town is the ideal base for exploring pristine lakes, towering peaks, and abundant wildlife. Visit the iconic Maligne Lake and Spirit Island, where you can take a scenic cruise or paddle across turquoise waters, and wander through the dramatic limestone cliffs and waterfalls of Maligne Canyon. Witness the power of Athabasca Falls as the river carves its way through a deep canyon, and enjoy panoramic mountain views by riding the SkyTram to the summit of Whistlers Mountain. As you travel through the park, keep an eye out for local wildlife such as elk, bears, and mountain goats. With gentle hikes, scenic lakeside walks, peaceful stargazing in one of the world’s largest Dark Sky Preserves, and plenty of opportunities to simply relax in nature, Jasper is a true sanctuary for both adventure seekers and nature lovers.

Day 7 - Jasper to Banff

Travel the spectacular Icefields Parkway from Jasper to Banff, passing glaciers, waterfalls, and turquoise lakes. Enjoy stops at Athabasca Falls, the Weeping Wall, Bow Lake, and Crowfoot Glacier. Along the way, your guide shares fascinating stories and insights into the regions geography and history, making this one-way journey a highlight of your Rocky Mountain adventure.

Highlights: Columbia Icefields Glacier Adventure and Skywalk, Icefields Parkway, Bow River, Peyto Lake (subject to lake access), or Waterfowl Lake

Day 8 - Explore Banff

Banff is a spectacular mountain destination where dramatic peaks, turquoise lakes, and vibrant alpine culture come together to create an unforgettable experience. Nestled within Banff National Park, the town offers easy access to some of Canada’s most iconic natural wonders. Spend time at Lake Louise and Moraine Lake, where dazzling blue waters and surrounding glaciers provide picture-perfect scenery. Explore the Bow Valley Parkway for a leisurely drive with excellent wildlife-spotting opportunities, or wander the trails around Johnston Canyon to see waterfalls cascading through narrow limestone cliffs. For panoramic views, take the Banff Gondola to the top of Sulphur Mountain, or relax in the rejuvenating waters of the Banff Upper Hot Springs. In town, enjoy boutique shops, cosy cafés, and local restaurants, all set against a backdrop of soaring peaks. Day 9 - Banff Return

Today take your coach transfer to Calgary Airport for your onward flight home.
