A photographer’s paradise: Northern Lights, stunning views and sparkling lakes 

Our tour began with a comfortable pickup in Vancouver as we headed toward Revelstoke, a charming mountain town renowned for world-class skiing and picturesque alpine views. Revelstoke was the ideal introduction to our Rocky Mountain tour, and I was thrilled to witness the spectacular Northern Lights here – an incredible sight I'll never forget! 

On day two, our enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide led us to what was fondly termed "Lake Day". Our adventure began at the stunning Emerald Lake, famous for its crystal-clear turquoise waters. We took the opportunity to kayak, fully immersing ourselves in the spectacular scenery of Yoho National Park. 

Our next destination was the iconic Moraine Lake, located near Lake Louise. This glacial-fed turquoise lake is one of the Canadian Rockies' most photographed spots, and it certainly lived up to its reputation. At Lake Louise, we enjoyed a leisurely walk around the world-renowned Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, capturing unforgettable views of the lake and surrounding mountains – truly a photographer’s paradise. 

Exploring Banff: A taste of mountain life and discovering hidden gems 

Arriving in Banff, we stayed at the welcoming Canalta Lodge – a rustic yet contemporary hotel ideally located near Banff's vibrant town centre. Banff itself was full of charming cafes, lively restaurants, and boutique shops, offering a delightful taste of local mountain life. 

The following day included a memorable visit to the stunning Peyto Lake, known for its vivid turquoise waters and breathtaking viewpoints. Our journey continued to powerful and majestic waterfalls, whose cascading waters left us in awe of nature's raw beauty. 

After two fantastic days exploring Banff National Park, our journey led us to Blue River, where we stayed in the tranquil Mike Wiegele Cabins – rustic log cabins beautifully situated by a serene lake. Known for heli-skiing in winter, this peaceful summer retreat was a hidden gem. Although our bear tour didn't yield any sightings this time, the scenic beauty made it worthwhile.

Our incredible tour concluded as we returned to vibrant Vancouver, carrying unforgettable memories of stunning mountain vistas, sparkling turquoise lakes, and charming Canadian towns.
