UK passport holders travelling to the United States of America for leisure are eligible to apply for an Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) under the US Visa Waiver Program (VWP).
The below information is based on UK passport holders only. It is the responsibility of each passenger in your party to apply. Failure to do so would lead to non-entry to the United States. My Canada Trips cannot be held liable in any way for non-compliance or refused entry to the United States.
What is an ESTA?
An Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) is an electronic travel authorisation linked to your passport, allowing you to travel to the USA for short stays up to six months within it's validity. You are not required to print any approval emails, all the data is linked electronically to your passport.
You can apply for an ESTA at https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta
You can also download the ESTA App on Google Play or the Apple Store.
It costs USD$40 for the application.

Most applications are approved within minutes, but it may take considerably longer if you need to submit documents or are required to obtain a US Visa in person from a US Embassy.
You are required to apply for an ESTA if you are entering the US by air, land or sea.
Adding a photo to your ETSA application.
When applying for your US ESTA you will be required to take a live (selfie) photo when filling out the form. This is not your passport photo.
If your ESTA does not contain the required selfie photograph now required by US Customs and Border Protection, you may need to apply for a new ESTA.

How long does my ESTA last?
An ESTA is valid for up to two years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first. You can apply for it as many times as you require. You do not need to renew your ESTA if you have a change or error in the following: employment, home address, work address, phone number, email address, travel itinerary, transit status, travel address, or in the point of contact information. However, please have the correct information readily available, as it may be requested during the inspection process.
If your passport has ever been reported lost or stolen to the authorities and then recovered, please do not attempt to use it for travel to the United States. If you input the passport details into the ESTA application, your application will be denied.

Important information if you have visited Cuba
You cannot apply for an ESTA visa waiver if you travelled to or were in Cuba on or after 12 January 2021. If you have visited Cuba since 12 January 2021 you will be required to apply for a full visa by making an appointment with the US Embassy in London.
