Before Travel

When can I check in for my Princess Alaska Cruise?

Check in opens 60 days prior to sailing date and should be completed 24 hours prior to departure. You can check in through the Princess Cruises App or the online portal.

 

When can I book my Alaska shore excursions with Princess?

Shore excursions are bookable 12 weeks prior to departure and can be booked through the Princess Cruise Manage my Booking. We recommend booking your shore excursions in advance to avoid disappointment as excursions can book out.

 

What cruise ship does Princess sail to Alaska?

Princess sails to Alaska onboard the following ships:

Caribbean Princess: Capacity of 3,142 passengers

Discovery Princess: Capacity of 3,660 passengers

Royal Princess: Capacity of 3,560 passengers

Ruby Princess: Capacity of 3,080 passengers

Emerald Princess: Capacity of 3,080 passengers

 

What itineraries does Princess offer in Alaska?

Princess Cruises offers Inside Passage roundtrip cruises (from Seattle, Vancouver, or San Francisco) and Voyage of the Glaciers cruises (between Whittier and Vancouver), which include Glacier Bay National Park or Hubbard Glacier. Cruise tours combining land and sea are also available, often including Denali and Fairbanks.

 

Is Glacier Bay included in all Princess Cruises?

Not all Princess itineraries include Glacier Bay. To visit this iconic location, speak to our experts to ensure you are on an itinerary which visits Glacier Bay.

 

Boarding

When will I board my Princess Alaska Cruise?

The time in which you can board may vary depending on your itinerary. The time slot when boarding is open will be provided after completing online check in.

 

What are the different boarding lanes with Princess Alaska Cruises?

To ensure a smooth boarding process guests will be provided with a boarding lane to enter.

Green Lane - Guests who have completed all the steps on the Travel Checklist and have received their Medallion(s) will qualify for the Green Lane. This lane provides the most streamlined embarkation process, allowing guests to board the ship faster.

Blue Lane - Guests who have completed some, none, or all of the Travel Checklist but have opted not to have their Medallion(s) shipped to them can still enjoy an expedited check-in process, but they will need to pick up their Medallion(s) at the cruise terminal.

Accessibility Lane - Guests with mobility or other accessibility needs will always have a dedicated lane available to them for a more streamlined check-in process, regardless of their OceanReady colour designation.

 

What documentation will I require when boarding Princess Alaska Cruise?

  • You will require your boarding which you will be issued after completing your online check in.
  • Government issued passport with at least 6 months validity from date of return to the UK.

**Please note that the above documentation is mandatory for all guests. You will be refused boarding if you do not have the required documents.**

 

Where will I board my Princess Alaska Cruise?

Depending on your itinerary your embarkation may take place in either Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco or Anchorage.

What will happen to my luggage onboard Princess Alaska Cruise?

When checking in for your Princess Cruise your luggage will be dropped off outside the ship and delivered by staff to your cabin. Please ensure your luggage is labelled to ensure a smooth process.

Will I see glaciers on my Princess Alaska Cruise?

Yes. Most Princess Alaska cruises include scenic cruising in Glacier Bay National Park, Hubbard Glacier, or College Fjord, offering incredible views of towering ice walls and calving glaciers. Depending on your itinerary the glaciers you see may differ.

 

Is there a dress code onboard Princess Alaska Cruise?

Princess Cruises has a smart casual dress code. Guests are asked to observe the following while onboard.

Onboard Day Attire:
Men and women: Leisure wear such as shorts and t-shirts are acceptable on board. Sandals with rubber soles and trainers are ideal on deck. 

Evening Attire:
There are two recommendations for evenings and dinners. Shorts and swimwear are not allowed in the restaurant.
Smart casual: 

Men: Shirt or a polo short with trousers.

Women: A top or blouse with a skirt or trousers, or a dress.

Formal:
Men: Suit, combination or dinner jackets.

Women: Evening gown, cocktail dress or pantsuit.

 

 Is there Wi-Fi onboard Princess Alaska Cruises?

Yes, Princess Cruises does offer Wi-Fi onboard and it’s included for guests who have booked Princess Plus or Princess Premier.

 

Do I need to pay gratuities onboard my Princess Alaska Cruise?

Yes, gratuities (crew appreciation) is required to be paid by each guest. You can prepay before or it is included in Princess Plus and Premier Princess packages.
