It is strongly recommended that you pick up your vehicle the day AFTER arrival in Canada.
When can we pick-up the vehicle?
The pick-up time of our vehicles is between 13:00 and 16:00 from Monday to Saturday. Please call the station on the morning of your pick-up to schedule your pick-up appointment. Toll-free numbers will be provided.
Before you pick up your vehicle, we need to ensure it has been cleaned thoroughly and checked mechanically. Arriving at a station without a prior appointment may result in delays, so please try to phone ahead so we can ensure things go as smoothly as possible.
You can also call to arrange transportation to the station from airport or airport area hotels. We would like to make your experience as pleasant and efficient as possible but do require your co-operation!
How long will a pick-up process take?
From the time you arrive until you leave our station, it may take anywhere from 1 to 2 hours. Please count on approximately ½ hour for the paper work. The personalized vehicle instruction may take anywhere between ½ to 1 hour.
Allocating this amount of time ensures that all your questions can be clearly answered and that you are fully aware of how to operate your vehicle before you leave on your trip.
In what condition will I receive my vehicle?
We guarantee that all our units will be “ready to go” when you receive them. They will be thoroughly cleaned, with fully charged batteries, full tanks of propane, and empty holding tanks. If you have chosen to include our convenience kit option, we will ensure that they are complete and that they have been placed in your vehicle.
We would like to pick-up or drop-off on a Sunday. Is this possible?
Yes. From May 1 to September 30, CanaDream is open on Sundays and our normal pick-up and drop-off times apply. From October 1 to April 30, we are open on Sundays on request only and a fee of $375.00 per occurrence may apply. Our Edmonton location is closed on Sundays year round.
What is the security deposit at pick-up?
A refundable $750.00 ($1,500.00 for a driver between 21 to 24 years) security deposit will be processed on a credit card at the time of pick-up. This deposit MUST be made by credit card and will be refunded to the same card at drop off as long as the vehicle is returned in a clean and undamaged condition with all equipment and/or convenience kits returned. In addition, an open credit card imprint is taken with all rentals and it will be destroyed at the time of drop-off.
Are we permitted to tow anything?
Our vehicles are not equipped with a hitch and we do not allow any towing. Your insurance coverage with CanaDream will not cover any kind of accident if you are towing anything.
Can I put a canoe or other objects on the roof of the vehicle?
We do not allow the transportation of canoes or other objects on the roofs of our vehicles. To prevent accidents, we do not install ladders on our vehicles. There is no coverage for any type of accident as a result of transporting an object on the roof of the vehicle.
We require a valid driver’s license (must be valid until at least the day after drop-off day) for all drivers. In addition, we require a passport for international guests or an ID card for our US guests.
No. However, for translation purposes, an International Driver’s license will ensure ease of use in Canada and the United States.
As numerous conditions affect gas mileage (wind, hills, speed, driving habits, etc.), fuel consumption will vary according to the conditions. As a rough “rule of thumb”, you could budget about 25 litres/100 kilometres.
You must be at least 21 years old to rent a motorhome and hold a valid driver’s licence issued by your own country. This licence must be valid until at least one day after you drop off your vehicle.
Yes. As long as you are picking up and dropping off at the same location, you are welcome to unpack your suitcase in your motorhome and leave it at our rental location. We are happy to store your suitcase until you return. There is no charge for this service.
This depends on the vehicle type. Canadian transport regulations state that each person travelling must be wearing a seatbelt. The number of people able to travel in each motorhome is dependent upon the number of seatbelts provided.
There is a dash radio/cd player in every motorhome. While many of our vehicles also have an MP3 outlet, we are unable to guarantee that the vehicle you receive will have this feature. We suggest that you bring an FM adaptor if you wish to play your portable mp3 player in your vehicle.
CanaDream does not offer any TV’s or DVD players in any of our Motorhomes. We recommend renting one of our iPads or using a similar device for your video pleasure. Some of our vehicles may have TVs installed in them however these are not for guest use.
CanaDream provides you with 24-hour toll-free emergency assistance in the event of a breakdown or accident. One of our technicians will be available to provide you with advice and help.
No. If cigarette smoke is detected in the unit at drop-off, a $500.00 defuming and sanitizing charge will be applied.
Our largest RVs are designed to accommodate up to 6 people. This is determined not by the number of sleeping places in the RV, but by the number of seatbelts. Under Canadian law, every person seated in the vehicle must be wearing a seat belt. The maximum number of seat belts in any of our vehicles is six.
Yes. Before boarding the ferry, you must comply with all regulations for the ferry you are travelling on. Please be aware that many ferries within Canada may refuse to carry motorhomes with a propane tank capacity of more than 65 litres. This is particularly true in the province of Quebec. Many of our Maxi Motorhomes (MHA) have been built for winter use and have propane tanks with a capacity of more than 65 litres. If you choose to travel in one of our MHA vehicles, we cannot guarantee that the vehicle you receive on the day of pick-up will have a propane tank smaller than 65 litres. If you are planning to travel on a ferry, please consider booking one of our Midi Motorhomes (MHB) as these vehicles are all equipped with propane tanks smaller than 65 litres. Our Deluxe Van Camper (DVC) and Super Van Camper (SVC) also have propane tanks which comply with ferry regulations.
