The iconic Canadian moose, caribou, elk wolves, the Arctic fox, not to mention the hundreds of species of birds and countless varieties of Arctic flowers. For many though it's the "mighty creatures" that create those hair-standing-on-the-back-of-the-neck moments.
Canada's beautiful wilderness is home to three of the eight species of bear - black, brown (or grizzly) and polar bear. These vast areas are the bears' last stronghold and Canada is undoubtedly the best place on the planet to see them. Whether it's a Grizzly Bear safari in the remote Bella Coola Valley, observing Spirit Bears in the Great Bear Rainforest or a Polar bear safari in the high Arctic.
Canada is also one of the world's foremost destinations for whale watching. The nutrient-rich waters around the islands of British Columbia are home to pools of Orcas and Humpback whales, as well as porpoises, seals, sea lions and bald eagles. On rare occasions, Minke whales sea elephants may be encountered.
