Day 3 - Vancouver to Jasper (VIA Rail)
By day, sit back in comfortable armchairs and enjoy the stretch out comfort of your very own accommodation. At night attendants will transform your quarters into cozy bunks or bedroom. Guests have access to the Park Car, always at the tail end of the train whose tapered shape gives the car its distinctive look. Enjoy complimentary tea and coffee or in the evening before dinner complimentary hors d’oeuvres. In the Dome you’ll feel the true essence of travelling by train - where scene after memorable scene sweeps by. This evening retire to your Sleeping Car where a comfortable bed awaits you. Some of the amenities include thick towels, plump pillows, cozy down duvets and a shower kit.
Day 4 - Canadian Rockies by daylight onboard Via Rail
By the time you awake this morning the train will have just departed Kamloops to begin a day of travelling towards the Canadian Rockies and Jasper. Enjoy breakfast (included) while surrounded by dramatic scenery as you follow the banks of the North Thompson River through the Monashee and Cariboo Mountains. Around lunch time the 'Canadian' begins its passage into the Canadian Rockies with views of snow-capped peaks, Pyramid Falls and the expansive glaciers of the Albreda Icefields. Pass by Mount Robson, which at 3954 metres is the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. Arrive in Jasper at 4.00pm and transfer to your hotel. The balance of the afternoon is yours to explore this unique mountain community. (breakfast & lunch included today onboard Via Rail)

Day 5 - Jasper Sightseeing
Explore this charming mountain village close to many terrific scenic highlights. Take a tram ride up Whistlers mountain, or visit Maligne Lake, one of the most photographed lakes in the world, and enjoy a 90 minute cruise heading toward the south end of this postcard setting (Maligne Lake cruise not included). You will marvel at the magnificent shoreline with dense forest and glacial peaks rising abruptly from the water’s edge. Stopping at Spirit Island, you will have the opportunity to take your own version of the world famous photograph of the lake. Optional Add-On Jasper - Rafting (Duration 3 hrs) Enjoy a gentle rafting tour on the Athabasca River for a unique perspective of Jasper National Park. The 16 kilometre, 21/2 hour round trip passes through many small sets of rapids and calm stretches, which allows your National Park Licensed guide to point out the natural and human history of Jasper. Specially designed rafts offer a safe, comfortable ride that any first time rafter will enjoy. This trip is for everyone from toddlers to seniors.

Day 6 - Jasper to Lake Louise (208 km / 129 miles)
Depart this morning on a scenic drive taking you through the spine of the Canadian Rockies. You view a never-ending procession of mammoth mountains, jagged peaks, over 100 glaciers and pristine emerald colour lakes. Along the way see such sights as the Columbia Icefield and take an Ice Explorer ride out onto the glacier (included). Also watch for the Sarbach Glacier, Peyto Lake, Bow Lake, with the Bow Glacier providing the backdrop, and Crowfoot Glacier before your arrival into Lake Louise. (Please note: Mountain lakes in this region will be frozen through to mid June).

Day 7 - Lake Louise to Banff (62 km / 38 miles)
Take the short drive from Lake Louise to Banff. Choose the Bow Valley Parkway, beside the Bow River with an option for you to take a stop at Johnston Canyon and walk along the paved footpath to either the lower or upper waterfalls before continuing to Banff. This afternoon explore Banff and area. In town you’ll find lots of excitement - shopping, cafes, nightlife, museums.

Day 8 - Banff Exploring (Banff Gondola)
A full day to explore Banff and area. In town you’ll find lots of excitement - shopping, cafes, nightlife, museums. Check out the Cave and Basin National Historic Site, Banff Gondola (included) where you will see a panoramic view of the Bow Valley, and then take a dip in the hot mineral pools at the Upper Hot Springs.

Day 9 - Banff to Sun Peaks (496 km / 310 miles)
Your drive today is on the famed Trans Canada Highway, following a route charted by the railroad engineers and fur traders of the mid 1800’s. Leaving Banff National Park, travel to Yoho National Park where you cross the continental divide. Then drive through Glacier National Park and 'Rogers Pass’ with spectacular mountain vistas in every direction. Optional Add-On House Boating on Shuswap Lake (4 Days / 3 Nights) Countless kilometers of pristine shoreline on Shuswap Lake await your exploration. Sun drenched beaches, beautiful waterfalls and awesome fishing are yours to discover from the comfort of your home away from home. Continue through the Monashee Mountain range and on to Sun Peaks Resort near Kamloops.

Day 10 - Sun Peaks to Vancouver (382 km / 238 miles)
Begin the day travelling along Logan Lake route to the gold rush town of Cache Creek, where you stop to visit the historic Hat Creek Ranch (admission included), which literally takes you back to the days of the gold rush. Continue the journey south to Lillooet, known as the land of the Gold Rush Trail and was 'Mile Zero’ of the Old Caribou Wagon Road during the Gold Rush Years. Now the area is home to the largest Canadian producers of the medicinal plant, Ginseng. Departing Lillooet travel the Duffey Lake Road to Whistler. On the upper elevations of the Duffey Lake Road enjoy breath-taking views of Joffee Glacier and snow capped Mount Currie that rises to a height of 2,596 meters (8,518 feet). A brief stop should be made in Whistler before continuing on through the scenic Howe Sound to Vancouver.

Your tour concludes today by checking out of your hotel and transfer by taxi to Vancouver Airport for your overnight flight back to the UK
